Huawei’s best tablets of 2018 just made their way to the US. Mediapad M5 is now available to buy here, from retailers like Amazon and Newegg.
The tablet we tested at Mobile World Congress Barcelona is no longer exclusive for the Chinese market. Huawei brought the stylus-ready Mediapad M5 to the States. You’ll find the tablet in two sizes, with an 8.4-inch display or a bigger, 10.8-inch one. The price difference between the two is $40, from $319 to $359, respectively.
Why would you buy one? The PC Mode might be tempting enough, since it turns your tablet in a laptop instantly. There’s also the added bonus of four Harman Kardon speakers, if audio is of big importance to you. Other than that, the usual specs might convince you; both tablets run on Kirin 960, which is pretty powerful and with 4GB of RAM in tow, you can expect smooth sailing. The initial storage comes at 64GB but it’s expandable with a microSD card.
In terms of battery life, the smaller tablet counts on a 5,100mAh cell while the bigger version is equipped with a huge 7,500mAh one.
What do you think – is it worth buying now or do you want to save for a Microsoft Surface Pro?
