Huawei is preparing to introduce two new smartphones during its next launch event, scheduled for October 21st, which will take place in Vienna, Austria.
The company will unveil the Huawei Nova 9 and Huawei Nova 8i during this event, its latest mid-range smartphones.
This has been anticipated for a long time, since the company has not brought new devices to other regions outside of China in a while. Huawei has been forced to use its own services and app store after the company has been accused for using its devices for spying. This prevented the company from launching its devices in other markets. Also, if Google’s mobile services are removed from Android smartphones, their usability is greatly reduced in global markets.

However, a new leak suggests that Huawei plans to launch the Nova 9 4G in Europe.
This leak comes via none other than Amazon. Thanks to a listing that is assumed has gone up by mistake, we now know that the Nova 9 will be available in Europe as of October 21st.
According to this listing, the version with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage will cost €499 (around $580) on Amazon. The Nova also has a variant with 256GB of storage but there’s no mention of that in the listing.
In addition to that, a leakster that goes by the handle Snoopy, has shared almost all the specifications of the Nova 9 4G smartphone through a tweet. The leaker claims that the Huawei Nova 9 4G smartphone will sport a 6.57-inch OLED panel with a pixel density of 392 PPI. The screen will have curved edges.
Under the hood, we’ll find a Snapdragon 778G chipset, according to the leakster, alongside 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Nova 9 will have a 4,300mAh battery that will come with 66W fast charging support.
It will run EMUI 12.0, based on Android 11, out of the box.
The Nova 9 4G will likely come with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and two 2MP shooters. On the front, the phone will house a 32MP selfie snapper for selfies and video calls.
For connectivity, it offers a USB-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, dual SIM slot, and 5G. Unfortunately the 3.5mm audio jack is not available on the device. However, it does have an in-screen fingerprint scanner for added security.
Other than that, the Nova 9 4G is designed to offer 128GB of onboard storage capacity. On the downside, the phone doesn’t come with a microSD card slot, so the users won’t be able to expand on the built-in storage capacity.
