A rumor has been making the rounds recently that Microsoft is working on developing new webcams and that they will have integrated Windows functionality.

This would allow the users to sign in just via facial recognition on any computer that runs on Windows 10 or their Xbox One account just by standing in front of the camera. This has not been possible since the Kinect program had been shut down last year.

According to the rumors, one or more cameras will come with a 4K resolution as well.

Of course, as the moment, all of this is just speculation and needs to be taken with a handful of salt – we don’t know if the cameras will be sold separately or if they will come along with Microsoft software either.

We’ll have to be a bit patient and wait for a while longer to see what Microsoft has in store for us in the next year.
