Nintendo will be bringing an updated version of the classic NES controller to Switch soon, though the design is not exactly the same as the original.
The updated controllers will be able to function wirelessly and will have to be attached to a docked Switch console for charging. That means we’ll be seeing the same connection strip on them that we normally find on the Joy-Cons.
Nintendo also announced more details about the Switch Online Service which included launching a handful of NES classics alongside the new titles, so what better way to play them than with a more modern rendition of the classic controllers?

The controllers will come in bundles of two, for $60, but that’s only for the Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, everyone else will have to toss in an extra $4.60 to $23.60 or so on top.
Those interested can start pre-ordering them starting September 19th, when the new online service will go live.
