Nubia Red Magic 6 Pro Is World’s First Phone with 165Hz Display

After debuting the world’s first commercial wraparound display in a smart bracelet, Nubia is back with a world premiere again.

This time, it’s the Nubia Red Magic 6 Pro phone, the world’s first phone with a 165Hz display…and the world’s first phone with up to 18GB of RAM.

This powerhouse of a gaming phone marks two major premieres, so the rest of the specs had to be just as eye-catching.

The Nubia Red Magic 6 Pro pairs those up to 18 GB of RAM with a Snapdragon 888 flagship chipset and up to 120W of fast charging… plus some impressive cooling options.

The basic Red Magic 6 starts with a  5,050 mAh battery that supports 66W charging and has a 18,000 rpm internal fan that boosts the internal vapor cooling.

Unusually, the Nubia Red Magic 6 Pro has a smaller battery, made up of two cells that have 4,500 mAh together. The reason for this is that this setup supports even faster fast charging – 120W, which brings the phone from 0% battery to 50% charging in just five minutes.

Under the hood, the Red Magic 6 Pro’s internal fan goes even faster, at 20,000 rpm. This more expensive model also has an aluminum plate on the back to help with heat dissipation.

For gamers, Nubia offers goodies like 400Hz capacitive shoulder triggers and a dual fan clip-on cooler.

Both the Red Magic 6 and the Red Magic 6 pro have the 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen, with 500Hz single-touch and 360Hz multi-touch sampling.

They also share the camera setup, whcih combines a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. Both phones’ selfie cameras have 8MP.

The Nubia Red Magic 6 line also includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Still, the flashiest model is definitely the Nubia Red Magic 6 Dao transparent model, which come with a gorgeous case, a glowing fan and, of course, up to 18GB of RAM.

The new Nubia flagships already launched in China, starting at $590 for the regular model and going for around $680 for the Red Nubia 6 Pro.

If you want the most premium option, the Dao transparent edition, you’ll have to start at $865 for the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage or shell out the full $1,120 for the top-of-the line model with 18GB RAM and 512GB storage.
