The Rode NTH-100 headset has been met with universal acclaim since its launch last year and now the company releases a follow-up that’s even better for aspiring podcasters and content creators.
The new Rode NTH-100M looks exactly like the NTH-100, which was the first foray into headphones for this audiophile darling, but adds a detachable condenser mike.
The headset will be available at $189, a $50 increase over the previous model, but there’s good news: if you own that model, you can simply buy the mike separately for $69 – just look for the NTH-Mic.
Rode already sold a combo on Amazon with the headphones and a dedicated podcasting mike but this seems like a more elegant solution.
If you want to pull the trigger on your first pair of Rode headphones, here’s what you should know.
Like the predecessor, the Rode NTH-100M headset comes with 40mm dynamic drivers, with a frequency response of 20 Hz – 20 kHz and an impedance of 32 ohms. Featuring cooling pads for longer wear, this is a pair of premium headphones few will regret purchasing.
The pads are covered in lush Alcantara and feature “CoolTech” gel to keep them comfortable even during long listening sessions. They also have a system called FitLok, which lets you lock them into the most comfortable position so that you only have to adjust them once, not every time you get them on your head.
