Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Gone From Samsung Website: Incoming Z Fold 3 Launch?

Samsung

Flagship smartphones have not been released at the same pace as before this year for obvious reasons, considering the worldwide situation, which means that anticipation is building for the models that we expect will be announced soon.
More recently, Samsung seems to be making room for its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy Fold Z 3. It seems Samsung is no longer selling the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the United States of America.

Although the phone still can be seen on the company’s store page, accessing the device’s page now redirects customers to a notification stating that the “Galaxy Fold is no longer available for purchase on Samsung.com” and invites them to “please take a look at additional options in the Galaxy family” instead.
The phone cannot be added to cart either, which is a little odd, considering that the original Galaxy Fold It is still listed in the same store, along with the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

This could prove to be just a bug on Samsung’s part, as the warning mentions the original Galaxy Fold name, instead of the Galaxy Z Fold 2. There is a possibility that Samsung had planned to retire the original Galaxy Fold in the US, but the Fold Z 3’s predecessor was instead removed from memory due to a bug.

However, there might be another option as well: this might be part of Samsung’s plans regarding its foldable lineup.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to be revealed quite soon and Samsung USA may want to make space on store shelves for the upcoming model. But assuming that’s the case, it still doesn’t answer the question of why the store pages for the original Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Fold stay online.

It’s also worth mentioning that in April, Samsung permanently reduced the Galaxy Z Fold 2 starting price from $1.999 to $1.799, in what now looks like an attempt to sell more units in order to push the Fold 2 out through the backdoor, in order to make room for its successor. This would mean that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 was only actively selling for merely nine months.
At the time this article is being written, the phone is only available from AT&T or via other online retailers.

The Z Fold 3 on the other hand could start as low as $1.599, in spite of the fact that it will most likely offer better specs and also S Pen compatibility. In addition to that, the device will also feature an under-panel internal camera, a first for Samsung phones. Of course, this price tag is mere speculation at this point, based on online rumors.
The rumor mill also suggested we might see a release date for the Z Fold 3 as early as July, while others insist we will see the phone in August. However, if Samsung plans to keep up with tradition, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be released in September, same as its predecessors from years prior.

Either way, we’re nearing a release date and we will most likely come across more leaks and rumors soon enough. We’ll keep you updated.
