What’s the go-to place for viral recipes and crazy finds? TikTok! No wonder that in the same place the news of a lickable TV came up.
It may sound crazy but it’s true: a Japanese professor actually made a functional TV you can taste.
As you can imagine, he designed it to help people taste food from a distance (especially in pandemic times) and even help future cooks and sommeliers fine tune their craft.
The Taste the TV works like this – the screen can be sprayed with one of 10 canister flavors to recreate the taste of food.
Then, the viewer can lick it and have a multisensory experience. As a respectable TV of our times, the device can be voice controlled, too.
Obviously, the professor’s innocent use case could be twisted and turned but assuming companies will find it practical, they will have to shell out $875 to make just one unit.
