Did Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series make you yearn to see Rivendell again?
You could watch the original trilogy from Peter Jackson for the thousandth time to see Hugo Weaving as Elrond in his gorgeous kingdom, or you could build your own Rivendell in LEGO.
This new Lego ‘Lord of the Rings’ Rivendell set has an insane amount of pieces – 6,157 to be exact – and lets you actually visit in real life the council of Elrond as shown in the first Lord of the Rings movie.
The whole set stretches almost 30 inches and is divided in three areas for every aspect of Rivendell that was shown in the film. It has everything that made the initial scene so dreamy, from Arwen waiting for Aragon in an ornate gazebo, to Elrond’s study and the entire Fellowship of the Ring discussing what should happen to the One Ring.
It also has 15 figurines for all the characters seen in the movie and even props for them, including Bilbo’s Sting sword.
For those who wanted the LEGO Elrond’s council set ever since it was discontinued in 2014, this is a gift that offers that and much more.
“We know many of our fans have been anticipating a set like this for a long time — but a great Lego The Lord of the Rings set is never late, it arrives precisely when it means to!” said Lego design master Mike Psaiki in a press release announcing the set.
The Lego ‘Lord of the Rings’ Rivendell set will set you back $500 when it launches this March. It’s a steep price but the set looks gorgeous from every angle, and LEGO will even offer LEGO VIP members a free Frodo and Gollum LEGO Brickheadz set.
