Bird, one of the biggest players in the mobility area, just introduced a new electric scooter that’s a bit lighter on your pocket.
That’s likely the most important feature – the $500 price tag.
In comparison to the $1299 Bird One, the company’s first consumer-destined scooter, or last year’s moped, the Bird Air has the highest chance to fly off the shelves.
Although it has the specs you’d expect from this price point, like a 16 MPH top speed and a decent, nothing to write home about 16 miles of range, it does feature 8″ “never-flat” tires, an important aspect to take into consideration for commuters.
The Bird Air frame is aircraft-grade aluminum and supports a 220 lbs max load, so it will handle the abuse of daily downtime commutes.
It also has integrated anti-theft protection and can pair with your phone via Bluetooth.
Right now, the Bird Air is on sale only on Target but will soon show up in Bird’s own store.
