Last year, Dimenco launched the concept of Simulated Reality (SR) technology. Now, the company is getting ready to introduce its Simulated Reality Development kit comes full circle at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The 32” 8K SR Devkit spatial desktop is designed for creators, developer, designer and engineering market as it was even confirmed as the main public because the desktop started shipping since November.
The display’s software development kit (SDK) supports the top game engines in the market, therefore creating SR applications using the Unreal engine and the specially developed Unity Editor is made smoothly, not to mention the portation of the 3D content.
For the SR Devkit, the company is teaming up with Microsoft and Ultraleap. The partnership brings wearable-free, 3D graphics and brings users a new form of interaction with digital media.
“Adding the sense of touch to digital content makes it come to life. Experiences are much more immersive and engaging. We are therefore very excited to partner with Dimenco on the SR devkit to create the most natural interactive platform from which developers can create immersive and magical content,” stated Steve Cliffe, CEO at Ultraleap.
Seems like the desktop is just the beginning, while the first “Simulated Reality” laptop is on the table.
“While the market for immersive content is growing around the world, wearable headsets, glasses and controllers needed for virtual and augmented reality don’t provide the optimal and most natural experience which is hindering growth and adoption. We are dedicated to creating the interactive platform of the future – Our vision is Simulated Reality. Realism, social interactivity, immersion and AI can all be achieved through SR experiences, and we are enabling developers to start creating for SR now with our devkit,” Maarten Tobias, CEO of Dimenco, confirmed.
