Intel, a company known for their incredible processors, really outdid itself with the announcement of Intel Core i9-8950HK. This new processor will make laptops feel just as powerful as a desktop PC.
With six cores, twelve threads, and up to 4.8GHz when cooled below 53 degrees Celsius, Intel Core i9-8950HK is an impressive processor capable of handling multiple operations and demanding tasks. It also comes unlocked, meaning that there is no set CPU operating speed or clock speed, so Intel expects that the processor could even be pushed to 5GHz+. #hardwaremagic
“At the top of the stack, the 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK processor is optimized to push the limits of performance. It is the first mobile Intel processor with six cores and 12 threads. It comes fully unlocked and features the new Intel Thermal Velocity Boost (TVB), which opportunistically and automatically increases clock frequency up to 200 MHz if the processor temperature is low enough and turbo power budget is available. This translates to a turbo frequency of up to 4.8 GHz,” boasted Intel.
According to the company, it’s 29% faster than last year’s high-end laptop CPU, the Core i7-7820HK, and 59% faster used to edit 4K videos.
Here’s how the Intel Core i9-8950 HK and the 8th generation of Intel Cores look in comparison to each other. Perhaps the sheer power of this lineup could help Intel regain its title as the world’s largest chipmaker.
