Voice is all the rage nowadays, with most social media platforms rushing to cash in on the trend Clubhouse started.
Microsoft-owned LinkedIn is also launching a Clubhouse competitor soon, offering its professional audience the opportunity to share their thoughts in audio form.
Facebook, Twitter and Telegram have all started working on audio-based networking features but LinkedIn thinks it can join in too, offering the same functionality but for a different purpose.
“We’re doing some early tests to create a unique audio experience connected to your professional identity. And, we’re looking at how we can bring audio to other parts of LinkedIn such as events and groups, to give our members even more ways to connect to their community,” said a LinkedIn spokesperson.
Since LinkedIn users have their professional identity on display, the opinions voiced there will probably be a bit more restrained.
The LinkedIn Clubhouse alternative will look like a stage with the speakers on full display and the listeners below.
LinkedIn shared some images of how the functionality will look like with TechCrunch, so you can get an idea about what to expect.
What do you think, will this be something that gets you more engaged with your network?
