The Photoshop Camera App Now Auto-Edits Your Photos For You

Adobe

If you ever felt like you were wasting too much time editing the photos you took with your smartphone, Adobe has now figured it all out for you.

Adobe announced that a new AI-powered smartphone app, known as Photoshop Camera, will soon edit your photos automatically. How is that possible?

Thanks to Adobe’s proprietary Sensei technology, the same one that Adobe uses to power up Photoshop’s ‘Select Subject’, among others. The feature can recognize subjects in the photo and edit them automatically.

Adobe wants this new feature to help out those who don’t really have the time or the desire to learn how to edit with Photoshop, given that it can be quite a tedious process when looked into more in depth. Now, everyone will be able to edit their photos in one single app and use, as Adobe put it, “real-time Photoshop-grade magic right from the viewfinder.”

Of course, the Photoshop Camera app is not all-powerful but it will be able to recognize the photo you’re taking, for example. That means it will know if you’re shooting a portrait, a landscape or a selfie and it will apply all the edits it deems necessary to that type of image.

The app is also capable of detecting the technical qualities of the image, dynamic range, tonality and face regions included, all of which will help it apply the adjustments.

The app is now up for download at the moment unfortunately but, according to Adobe, both iOS and Android users will be able to grab it in early 2020.
