As reported by Roxana Ion back in December 2021, an executive from Zoom’s video communication company implied hybrid work will continue to drive growth after the pandemic.
Zoom says the shift to hybrid work is permanent
The executive’s prediction is highly possible, as companies are moving towards hybrid work with employees working from both the office and home each week.
“Employees are demanding flexible work arrangements and the ability to work frictionless, irrespective of where they are,” stated Ricky Kapur, head of Asia Pacific at Zoom.
“I think there are three big shifts that are happening post-pandemic that businesses are investing in and that’s spurring our growth and relevance,” he added for CNBC’s “Street Signs Asia”.
With consumers demanding more convenience, organizations are now revisiting the customer engagement experience.
“Whether it’s a retail experience, the ability to live feed into the store and speak with a live person — see a product, have a real conversation, and then make a purchase decision. Consumers are expecting that from companies,” he said.
As millions of people used Zoom’s technology during the pandemic, the company’s revenue grew by 35% from the previous year.

Remote work is now a reality for millions
Spotify, the biggest audio streaming app, says that their employees will have the opportunity to work from home more and play around with their schedule in order to have time for family and other personal matters.
This is one of the biggest employers in the tech industry to make remote work and hybrid work permanent and more companies are following suit.
