The Fallout-Like Silo Series On Apple TV+ Becomes Number 1 Streaming Show

Fallout fans not only have the Amazon Fallout TV show to look forward to but also a new Apple TV+ series called Silo.

Another post-apocalyptic show where the action takes place in underground silos, the Apple TV+ show Silo is now the number one show on Reelgood’s Top 10 most streamed content, even ahead darlings like the season 3 of Ted Lasso.

The Silo TV show is based on a very popular scifi saga (Silo) and trust me – you need to at least read Wool by Hugh Howey, the first one in the series. It’s one of the most exciting scifi series in recent years and fans of post-apocalyptic content simply cannot miss it.

The Silo series consists of 3 books: Wool, Shift and Dust, though Hugh Howey announced in 2021 that there is a fourth book in the works.

What about the Apple Plus TV show that’s about to become a smashing hit? As you cn see, there is plenty of material for a successful adaptation and so far the reviews are glowing.

Season 1 of Silo has a 75% rating on Metacritic, with one critic calling it “an instant dystopian classic”.

What the Silo TV series is about

“In a ruined and toxic future, thousands live in a giant silo deep underground. After its sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents die mysteriously, engineer Juliette starts to uncover shocking secrets and the truth about the silo” is the official synopsis.

“Silo is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will,” said Apple in a page for the press.

Silo TV series episodes

The dystopian TV show is led by Rebecca Ferguson, joined by Rashida Jones and Tim Robbins in supporting roles, as well the fantastic Iain Glen of Game of Thrones fame.

With five episodes available so far, Silo on Apple TV+ is a must-watch if you love dystopian, post-apocalyptic movies and shows.

It’s a thoughtful show that blends deep questions with a satisfying mix of action and hooks to keep you binging. Still, somehow, to me it feels a lot more like HBO’s Station Eleven in tone, rather than Fallout, but it does scratch that Fallout TV show itch.

The Silo TV series debuted on May 5th and will have a 10-episode run, which concludes on June 30. And if you’re a scifi fan, make sure you also don’t miss the Chinese version of Three-Body Problem made by Tencent. This is one underrated series many more people should know about!
